Con il supporto di Eni, l’Università di Palermo organizza dal 25 al 29 giugno 2018 la Summer School “Cambiamenti climatici, inquinamento ambientale e bonifica”.
La collaborazione di Eni con un’istituzione autorevole
La Summer School “Cambiamenti climatici, inquinamento ambientale e bonifica” offre una panoramica completa e vuole essere una piattaforma di discussione sulle conseguenze dei cambiamenti climatici per la valutazione dei danni alle risorse naturali, la bonifica e il recupero, con particolare attenzione al tema degli acquiferi. Il corso è aperto a tutti gli interessati, in particolare a dottorandi di ricerca, assegnisti e ricercatori in ambito universitario e nei centri di ricerca, ma anche a professionisti e dipendenti di aziende di settore.
I docenti, i Nobel dell’energia
Durante la Summer School, ad affiancare docenti di vari atenei italiani ci sono quelli di grande notorietà e valore internazionale, provenienti del network del premio Eni Award, il Nobel dell’energia, istituito nel 2008. Si tratta di:
Barbara Sherwood Lollar, dell’Università di Toronto, ricercatrice celebre per le sue ricerche sull’acqua non solo sulla terra ma anche nello spazio, su Marte, premio Protezione dell'Ambiente Eni Award 2012.
Peter Wadhams glaciologo dell’Università di Cambridge, noto a livello internazionale per i suoi studi sul cambiamento climatico, per molti anni membro della prestigiosa Commissione scientifica di Eni Award
Roberto Danovaro, presidente della Stazione zoologica Anton Dohrn di Napoli, uno dei massimi studiosi del sistema marino, premio Protezione dell’Ambiente Eni Award 2013
Silvia Comba, che oggi applica le sue ricerche sulla bonifica delle acque inquinate in Eni, vincitrice nel 2012 della sezione Debutto nella ricerca di Eni Award, riservato ai giovani ricercatori italiani.
L’impegno di Eni in Sicilia: le attività
Eni ha da anni un forte legame con la regione. Svolgiamo attività operative in Sicilia, siamo operatore in 12 concessioni di coltivazione nell’onshore e 3 nell’offshore, che nel 2017 hanno prodotto circa il 10% della produzione Eni in Italia. I principali giacimenti si trovano a Gela, Tresauro, Giaurone, Fiumetto, Prezioso e Bronte.
L’impegno di Eni in Sicilia: tra sviluppo sociale, culturale e tecnologico
Nel novembre del 2014 è stato firmato il Protocollo di Intesa per il rilancio dell’area di Gela tra Eni, le Organizzazioni Sindacali, le Istituzioni e Confindustria, che comprende anche iniziative di sviluppo sostenibile, con una serie di interventi tutti caratterizzati da alto contenuto tecnologico e di ricerca e a elevata sostenibilità ambientale. Nell’ambito dell’Intesa si annoverano anche i progetti di Alternanza Scuola-Lavoro, di Apprendistato di Primo Livello, le iniziative contro la dispersione scolastica e borse di studio universitarie. Abbiamo promosso diverse iniziative per lo sviluppo sociale e culturale della comunità, come ad esempio le attività in partnership con la FIGC per la promozione della cultura dello sport e dell’azienda tra i giovani. Sempre a Gela, inoltre, si trova il nostro Safety Competence Center, il centro di eccellenza avviato nel 2015 dove vengono formati gli specialisti nel campo della sicurezza che lavorano a supporto delle attività operative di Eni in Italia e all’estero. A maggio 2018, inoltre, abbiamo firmato un’intesa con il Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche (CNR) per la creazione di centri di ricerca in Italia: uno di questi sarà proprio a Gela, e si concentrerà sulla fusione nucleare come tecnologia che può essere impiegata nella produzione di energia pulita potenzialmente illimitata.
