La nostra raffineria a Taranto: flessibilità e varietà dei prodotti
L’impianto situato in Puglia rappresenta il polo logistico per l’approvvigionamento di carburanti più importante nel Sud Italia per dimensioni e posizione strategica.
Affacciata sul Mar Ionio, la raffineria è in attività dal 1967 e nel corso degli anni è stata ammodernata per ottimizzare gli impianti. Alla capacità di lavorazione autorizzata di 6,5 milioni di tonnellate annue di greggio, proveniente per oltre il 75% dalla Val D’Agri, si aggiunge l’inserimento annuo sul mercato di circa 5 milioni di tonnellate di prodotti. Il collegamento diretto tra la raffineria e i nostri giacimenti in Basilicata avviene tramite un oleodotto di 137 chilometri di proprietà SOM SpA (70% Eni e 30% Shell), che attraversa 18 territori comunali:
7 in provincia di Potenza
6 in provincia di Matera
5 in provincia di Taranto
L’impianto di trasporto consente la ricezione, lo stoccaggio, la lavorazione e la spedizione di greggio nazionale. I punti di forza della raffineria sono:
la flessibilità logistica garantita dall’ampio parco serbatoi
la varietà di prodotti ottenuti con un ciclo di lavorazione diversificato e un elevato indice di conversione.
La raffineria è suddivisa in diverse aree:
stoccaggio del greggio, dei semilavorati e dei prodotti finiti
impianti di produzione
caricamento del prodotto via terra
la zona pontile per l’ingresso e l’uscita dei prodotti via mare.
Il greggio in ingresso viene distillato, desolforato e convertito in:
gasoli
jet fuel
benzine
nafta
oli combustibili
bitumi
GPL.
I prodotti finiti vengono spediti via mare, attraverso l’area pontile, oppure via terra, utilizzando l’area caricamento.

Il nostro obiettivo è potenziare la consapevolezza delle nostre persone e il loro senso di responsabilità verso sé stessi e gli altri, estendendo gli strumenti HSE e la digitalizzazione per rendere i processi aziendali più sicuri, efficienti e veloci.
Le persone sono un elemento indispensabile per l’esistenza della raffineria. Adottiamo un modello fondato sulla centralità della persona e la sua tutela, sullo sviluppo delle capacità e delle competenze, offrendo a tutti le medesime opportunità, sulla base di criteri di merito condivisi e senza discriminazioni. Nella raffineria operano oltre 400 persone, vero punto di forza per il raggiungimento degli obiettivi produttivi, dei traguardi di sicurezza e della salvaguardia ambientale. Un piano di formazione continua garantisce il costante accrescimento del know-how e l’adeguamento delle competenze in linea con l’evoluzione del business. Inoltre, in linea con le politiche e le linee guida di Eni, la raffineria ha adottato una sua Politica di Salute, Sicurezza, Ambiente, Prevenzione degli Incidenti rilevanti e Security, definendo e diffondendo specifici principi strategici per la gestione delle attività. La raffineria è certificata secondo gli standard ISO14001, EMAS, ISO50001 e OHSAS 18001.
La sicurezza e il rispetto per l’ambiente sono gli elementi primari nella gestione quotidiana della raffineria. Strumenti di monitoraggio continuo della qualità dell’aria per l’abbattimento delle emissioni odorigene e interventi di bonifica della falda e dei suoli sono solo alcuni degli interventi realizzati. Ci impegniamo a operare in modo responsabile e a promuovere un modello di sviluppo sostenibile, aderendo ai valori di Eni e agli Obiettivi per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile dell’Agenda 2030 delle Nazioni Unite. La nostra strategia di sostenibilità è integrata nel modello di business e stimola progetti e iniziative per rispondere alle esigenze sempre più diversificate e in continua evoluzione degli stakeholder. L’eccellenza del modello operativo Eni si caratterizza in un costante impegno nel minimizzare i rischi e nel creare opportunità lungo l’intero ciclo delle attività attraverso la valorizzazione delle persone, la salvaguardia della salute e della sicurezza, la tutela dell'ambiente, il rispetto e la promozione dei diritti umani e l’attenzione alla trasparenza e alla lotta alla corruzione.
La raffineria di Taranto si propone di diffondere la cultura e i principi dello sviluppo sostenibile, sostenendo iniziative e collaborando con università, istituti scolastici e network d’eccellenza. L’impianto promuove attività di ricerca e innovazione, con particolare attenzione a quelle che portano benefici di lunga durata al territorio. In quest’ottica e in sinergia con le amministrazioni comunali, è parte attiva dello sviluppo dell’economia circolare e della mobilità sostenibile, come già realizzato in un Comune del comprensorio, con il progetto di produzione e stesura di un asfalto sostenibile ottenuto dal recupero di pneumatici fuori uso (PFU) miscelati a un bitume di nostra produzione.
Inoltre, la Raffineria di Taranto è stata anche protagonista del progetto Oilà, dedicato al recupero degli oli alimentari usati raccolti dai dipendenti nelle proprie abitazioni e conferiti in appositi contenitori presenti nelle aree di raffineria. Per l’iniziativa è stata consegnata ad ogni dipendente una tanichetta fatta per il 75% con plastica proveniente dal riciclo degli imballaggi urbani cercando di far acquisire così maggior consapevolezza sulla cultura del recupero e riciclo. Il progetto contribuisce in modo concreto e immediato all’economia circolare, trasformando un rifiuto potenzialmente dannoso per l’ambiente, come l’olio vegetale esausto, in una nuova risorsa energetica.
Nel percorso di decarbonizzazione, il raggio d'azione di Eni si allunga fino al cielo. Alle prime produzioni di carburante sostenibile realizzate a Taranto, seguiranno quelle di Livorno.
