Eni rafforza la propria presenza in Messico aggiudicandosi tre nuovi contratti di Esplorazione e Produzione

San Donato Milanese, 20 giugno 2017 - Eni si è aggiudicata 3 delle 10 aree offshore assegnate dalla Commissione Nazionale degli Idrocarburi (CNH) nel bacino di Sureste, nel Golfo del Messico. Questo risultato permette ad Eni di ampliare ulteriormente la propria presenza in un mercato che solo con la riforma energetica del 2014 si è aperto ad investimenti stranieri, e che ha un grande potenziale di crescita.
L’aggiudicazione è l’esito della prima asta petrolifera convocata dalla CNH nell’ambito della "Ronda 2", in cui sono stati offerti blocchi situati in profondità d’acqua variabili tra 20 e 500 metri, nei bacini di Sureste e Tampico-Misantla.
Eni sarà operatore del Blocco 10 (Eni 100%), del Blocco 14, (Eni 60%, Citla 40%), e del Blocco 7 (Eni 45%, Cairn 30% e Citla 25%). Tutte le licenze saranno gestite attraverso la controllata Eni Mexico. L’assegnazione dei contratti, che saranno di production sharing, è soggetta all’approvazione delle autorità.
Eni detiene già il 100% dell’Area 1 nel Bacino di Sureste, dove sta svolgendo con successo attività di esplorazione e appraisal e sta finalizzando uno sviluppo fast track per una rapida messa in produzione del campo di Amoca. I nuovi blocchi sono contigui all’Area 1 e permetteranno, in caso di successo esplorativo, di costruire un business operato con massa critica e sinergie operative nel paese.
Eni è presente in Messico dal 2006 e ha creato la sua controllata al 100% Eni Mexico nel 2015.
