Every year, we define and report on sustainability issues that are relevant to the Company and its stakeholders.
Determining relevant sustainability issues is based on a process of identifying the issues and setting priorities. This is the basis of sustainability reporting, along with the four-year planning process, and it consists of three distinct stages:
The analysis stage provides the basis for setting the Eni Strategic Sustainability Guidelines issued by the Chief Executive Officer for all the business lines. The four-year strategic plan is then drawn up to outline the objectives and investments in an integrated manner across all the identified business lines. Then, based on the plan, we present the Sustainability Management Goals assigned to all managers. These guidelines identify material sustainability issues, which determine the Company's ability to create value in the short, medium and long term. The relevant issues are shown below according to the three levers of the integrated business model (process of decarbonisation, operational model and cooperation model). In the graph, we highlight the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on which Eni's activities have a direct or indirect impact:
