Eni’s new “EnergIA” tool is based on generative artificial intelligence and helps users to rapidly locate information on eni.com.
The project was designed to use technological advances to help users easily access website content. We hope that it will enhance information accessibility and transparency for our stakeholders, promoting an understanding of our company in a more modern, intuitive and user-friendly way.
A window on Eni’s world, updated in real time. The system automatically integrates new content, almost as soon as it is published on the website.
In corporate communication, Gen-AI serves as a tool to disseminate knowledge and harness the power of information.
Because, just like energy, information too must be accessible to everyone.
The clearer and more specific it is, the better the tool can find an accurate answer.
EnergIA might not be able to process an answer if there aren’t enough relevant sources. If this happens, try rephrasing the question.
If questions breach security criteria, the system will not process the answer. For privacy reasons, please do not submit personal data.
EnergIA is not a virtual assistant, nor a system to locate documents on the website. If you are looking for a specific document, press release or news item, you can just use the standard search engine, accessed through the magnifying glass icon.
The system stores the questions asked, the answers given, and their sources. At any time, you can continue browsing the site and then return to EnergIA to consult it again.
If you are inactive on eni.com for thirty minutes or more, your browsing session will end and your question history will be erased.
Upon receiving a reply, you can pose another question, remembering that the system keeps track of the prior conversation. If the next question concerns an entirely different subject, you should clear the memory by clicking the “clear chat” button at the top. This action will also delete the history of all your previous questions.
After receiving the answer, please always refer to the recommended sources, which are Eni’s sole official voice. It’s important to remember that EnergIA is a support tool driven by artificial intelligence, which can produce responses that might be outdated or imprecise. For this reason, please always verify the proposed sources for a complete and accurate overview.
To find out the Company’s official stance on a subject, please contact the relevant departments: The Press Office for journalists, Investor Relations for analysts and investors, Company Secretariat for shareholders, etc.
EnergIA can understand questions in nearly all languages, but it prefers to respond in Italian or English, the two languages offered on eni.com. If the system receives a question in Italian, it will search the Italian-language content of the site. If a question is asked in English or another language, it will consult the content in English and provide the answer in English. The language that Eni predominantly uses for financial documents/content is English.
Along with the response, you will have the chance to evaluate the result provided, by adding any comments in case of negative feedback. If you find any inaccuracies in the response, please report them using the relevant tool. Your suggestions are crucial for enhancing the efficiency of our service. We always welcome feedback that can help us improve.
EnergIA is a constantly evolving technological innovation project. Thanks to the rapid advancements being made in artificial intelligence – as well as user feedback – the project will benefit from ongoing enhancements and adapt ever more effectively to the needs of the public and the eni.com information ecosystem.

Yes, EnergIA can respond in both Italian and English, the languages currently supported on eni.com. If a question is asked in Italian, EnergIA will analyse the content in Italian to provide a coherent response. If the question is in English or in most other existing languages, the system will analyse the content in English. Note that English is the official language used by Eni for financial communications.

In this context, “content” refers to the questions sent to the system and feedback, including comments, provided in relation to the received responses.
At this stage, we track this information to monitor the system and guarantee its proper functioning.
To safeguard privacy and adhere to regulations, do not enter personal details like full names, phone numbers, email addresses, tax identification numbers, ID document numbers, or bank account details, nor sensitive or confidential information such as health records, login details, or private company data.

Generative artificial intelligence is a branch of AI that differs from traditional AI in its ability to generate new content based on the “prompts” provided as input by users.
EnergIA uses this technology, specifically “Large Language Models”, to analyse the information available on eni.com and generate responses based on official sources.
The system uses the Retrieve Augmented Generation (RAG) method to find the most pertinent content in its knowledge base when answering a user’s question. The technology generates natural language responses, offering a conversational experience that enables intuitive exploration of the site’s content.
The sources used by EnergIA include the most relevant content available on eni.com: webpages, financial documents from the past twelve months, press releases from the past two years, and a selection of documents deemed strategic for the project.
EnergIA is different because it exclusively queries official Eni sources. Its added value lies in the access to exclusive content not available through external artificial intelligence solutions.
