We operate in Mozambique primarily in the natural gas sector, offshore exploration and projects related to biofuels and sustainability. With the Coral South gas project, brought on stream just five years after its approval, the country has become a leading global player in liquefied natural gas (LNG). In line with our strategy, we are also developing Rovuma LNG and Coral North, two key projects that enhance Mozambique’s vast gas resources and strengthen its role as a global LNG player, contributing to energy security. In addition, the production of agri-feedstock in the country enables Mozambique to play an active role in our strategy to develop bioenergy for increasingly sustainable mobility. Alongside our operational activities, we promote sustainable growth initiatives by supporting training and local employment, agricultural projects and investments in infrastructure, healthcare and education, helping to combine energy security with socio-economic development. Through the Clean Cooking Programme, in particular, we promote access to more efficient cooking solutions, contributing to the energy transition.

Community healthThe Coral South project is operational following the discovery of the vast gas resources of the Coral, Mamba and Agulha fields, located in the deep waters of Area 4 in the Rovuma Basin. The initiative positions the country as a global player in LNG production and export. The project’s technological core is the Coral Sul FLNG (Floating Liquefied Natural Gas) facility, through which gas is liquefied and exported.
Also in Area 4, Rovuma LNG is under development for the production, liquefaction and marketing of natural gas from three fields in the Mamba complex, together with Coral North which, once operational, will make the country the third-largest LNG producer in Africa and help meet growing LNG demand from Europe and Asia.
We are also developing the production of agri-feedstock, vegetable oils obtained from crops grown on degraded or abandoned land, intercropping and the recovery of forestry and agro-industrial residues, without competing with the food supply chain, for use as raw materials in biofuel production at Enilive’s biorefineries.
We support local development through projects focusing on education, healthcare, food security and energy; we support entrepreneurship, with particular attention to the most vulnerable communities and children. We also promote initiatives supporting biodiversity, forest protection and conservation. In this area, the Great Limpopo project is also under way, in partnership with Biocarbon Partner BCP, and was the first to receive a REDD+ licence. Through the Clean Cooking Programme, we reached one million beneficiaries across several provinces of the country in 2026, helping to lower fuel consumption, reduce environmental pressure and improve health conditions.

The plant will be the second state-of-the-art FLNG in the Rovuma Basin, offshore Cabo Delgado, designed to enhance gas from the northern section of the Coral field.
The decision has been announced for the Coral North FLNG project to put in production gas from the northern part of the Coral reservoir in Area 4.
