Our growth in renewable energy production

Renewables, decarbonization at the heart of our strategy

Renewable sources are at the heart of our strategy for energy diversification and for decarbonisation. Their growing presence in our energy mix is essential when it comes to achieving the Net Zero target by 2050 by offering increasingly decarbonised products, services and solutions and supporting our private and corporate customers in reducing emissions and realising their energy transition. The contribution of renewables is also crucial to fulfilling Goal 7 of the UN 2030 Agenda: ensuring universal access to affordable and cleaner energy sources.

From a technical standpoint, renewables are non-depletable sources of energy because they are naturally replenished on a time scale which is compatible with human life. This can take place through physical processes, such as the use of natural elements like the sun, wind, water and geothermal heat, or through chemical processes such as the use of waste and residue from various types of biomasses, household waste, agricultural and food industry processing. Precisely because of the enormous value for the just transition, we invest our expertise in the development of technological innovations dedicated to renewables.

Research and renewables: the accelerators of decarbonisation

We are progressively improving the efficiency of renewable energy through our constant commitment to technological innovation.

Renewable sources for the zero emissions target

Giving solid form to our commitment to the research and development of renewable sources is Plenitude, which integrates the production of renewable energy with the traditional sale of electricity and gas, services for energy efficiency and electricity , through which we aim to reach the Scope 1, Scope 2, Scope 3 zero emissions target by 2040.

Plenitude's renewables for households and businesses worldwide

By combining established conventional technologies with new solutions, we can offer an increasing production of electricity from renewable sources to households and businesses. Solar, onshore and offshore wind, storage and floating wind are the areas in which we operate in Italy and across the world. Through Plenitude we are present in France, Greece, Slovenia, Spain, Portugal, the UK, Norway, USA, Kazakhstan and Australia.

Energy from the sun and wind to power our activities and local grids

Our renewable energy plants also find their industrial application in our operations upstream around the world, allowing them to be all the more sustainable.
At the same time, we produce solar and wind energy to power the local grids in the countries hosting our installations or for sale to end customers: households and businesses.

The renewables challenge

We anticipate growth in the production of energy from renewable sources (100% Plenitude).
