The project is in line with Eni's integrated circular economy model and replicates what it has already done in Ghana.

Karachi, 24 April 2019 – Eni Pakistan took part in the "Clean Beach" initiative, a project to clean up shorelines.

Cleaning Karachi

On 24 April, Eni employees in Karachi decided to clean the shoreline of a beach in Pakistan's most populated city. An area measuring 1.5km was marked off on the Karachi beach, four teams were formed and the area was divided among the teams to ensure a coordinated and systematic approach to cleaning it. In addition to the workers, the Managing Director and Top Management were on hand to demonstrate that this initiative had the support of the entire team. Wearing safety gloves and masks, the volunteers worked for more than two hours filling rubbish bags with over 350kg of plastic.

THE AREAS WHERE WE OPERATE ARE LIKE HOME TO US, SO OUR PRIORITY IS TO PROTECT THE HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT OF THE LOCAL POPULATION.

A common goal

Eni is an environmentally friendly company and a supporter of environmental conservation. Its commitment to both is renewed continuously. One of the Company's near-term goals is to eliminate net emissions in its Upstream business by 2030. Eni aims to transform this idea into concrete action, making a positive impact towards protecting and conserving the environment. Eni Pakistan has fully embraced this level of environmental awareness. At the end of the “Clean Beach” day, the Managing Director thanked the volunteers for their time and effort, reinforcing the importance of keeping our planet safe and clean, and emphasising the need to preserve its integrity through preventive action.
