University courses in Engineering
We believe knowledge is a determining factor in growth and development – for individuals, countries and communities.
We work with many prestige universities abroad supporting highly specialized training programs for new generations.
The Project involves the collaboration of Politecnico di Milano, partner of ECU.
We are supporting the “Tertiary Education in Energy” Project promoted by Eni IEOC Sustainability which aims to encourage the participation of young people in the country of Egypt's efforts towards a low carbon economy through a tertiary education programme, promoting the Sustainable Development.
The collaboration of Politecnico di Milano consists in the design of the study plan and the implementation of a tertiary education program in Energy Engineering Technology with focus on Energy Efficiency at Elsewedy University of Technology – Polytechnic of Egypt – that is accessible, convenient and in line with the needs of the energy market and of the local energy transition.
The target is the creation of professional roles suitable to participate in the energy transition, as well as the dissemination of greater knowledge and awareness on sustainability issues at a country level, with significant positive effects on the dynamics of the labor market and on the development of the entire national sector. The program is drawn up in accordance with the internal regulations of Elsewedy University.
With the University of Oxford we have entered into an agreement whereby Master's and Doctorate scholarships are awarded annually to students from the sub-Saharan African countries of interest to Eni.
Since 2018, there has been an active collaboration with the Kazakh British Technical University (KBTU) in Almaty to create a Master's in Petroleum Engineering, providing business and academic experts in lecturing.
Also in Kazakhstan, since 2018 we have been supporting a curriculum proposed by the Society of Petroleum Engineers for Petroleum Engineering courses promoted by the University Satbayev in Almaty under the direction of the Colorado School of Mines, through company lecturers.
We have launched a project with Strathclyde University in Glasgow through a two-year agreement that will bring together Eni’s industrial know how and the skills of the Scottish university, which is a leader in the renewables sector. The aim is to analyse the skills needed by workers with experience in traditional energy fields for them to enter the green energy sector, particularly in offshore wind energy.
In the context of the energy transition, Eni and Strathclyde University will work together to promote a new approach that can facilitate job creation and job opportunities for the wind sector.

A collaboration between Elsewedy University of Technology Polytechnic of Egypt and Politecnico di Milano.
The study plan is available on the Elsewedy University website.
The Politecnico di Milano – in addition to defining the syllabus and preparing the technical specifications of the laboratories for the practical parts for the new courses on Energy topics and reviewing the existing courses – will provide the delivery of the "Energy Engineering Week” course.
The course is scheduled from the 2024-2025 to the 2027-2028 academic years. Attendance is mandatory and the delivery method, generally in person, may include online sessions. The structure will include training lessons and practical work sessions on projects and presentations. The course will be delivered at Elsewedy University with the issuing of an individual certificate of attendance of the Politecnico upon completion of the course.
Furthermore, the Politecnico di Milano will prepare a support document for the identification of the knowledge and skills as well as the teaching experiences necessary to deliver the Btech courses in line with European and international standards to be used by Elsewedy University as the basis for the Terms of Reference for identifying local staff.
Finally, the Politecnico will plan training for the staff (Train of Trainer) both to explore general energy aspects and to transfer innovative teaching methods.
900 students – to be enrolled in the period 2024-2028 - graduates from high school with 12 years of schooling. Availing a diversified range of scholarships and financial aids to applicants.
