On 19 October 2012, the CEO of Eni and the Chancellor, Masters and Scholars of Oxford signed a five-year renewal of the sponsorship agreement between Eni and the Centre for Corporate Reputation of the Said Business School at the University of Oxford.

In exchange for the support it will provide to further research in the Centre, Eni will receive important benefits in terms of global reputation and brand image, as well as access to educational initiatives of excellence.

By virtue of this agreement, one of the lecture theatres of the Said Business School has been named in honour of Enrico Mattei.

Among the initiatives planned, we should highlight in particular the awarding of 5 scholarships for each year of the contract's duration. These will enable students to participate in the MSc in African Studies at the African Study Centre in St Antony’s College.
Candidates will be selected jointly by Eni and the University from among African students in the countries where Eni operates actively (Nigeria, the Congo, Mozambique, Angola, etc.). The choice regarding the candidates’ country of origin will be made in agreement with the exploration and production division (E&P) of Eni.
