Our mission is inspired by the UN 2030 Agenda, which was launched in September 2015, when more than 150 world leaders met to support global development, promote human wellbeing and protect the environment. The UN 2030 Agenda is an action plan that incorporates 17 Sustainable Development Goals, embracing all aspects of social, economic and environmental development in an organic and integrated way.
Actions, values and responsibilities
Our mission statement reinforces the principles that underpin our company's business model. We recognise that the energy sector's biggest challenge is balancing maximum access to energy with the fight against climate change. This is why we have changed our energy mix, so that we can reduce our impact on the planet. Our model dictates how we integrate sustainability in all our operations: from the reduction of greenhouse-gas emissions to respect for the environment, from human rights to staff training, and from the promotion of local development to universal access to energy.

The new mission
Six years ago, anticipating crisis in the traditional energy sector, we at Eni decided to change. The result is that today we are a stronger, faster and more resilient company – one that wants to be instrumental in the process of energy transition towards a low-carbon future. This is demonstrated by our new company mission, which is based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations to achieve sustainable global growth, both economically and socially.
