Eni, in order to enhance its commitment to stand by all women, contributes to spread as much as possible the free toll number 1522. The number has been established by the Department for Equal Opportunities since 2006, to provide an immediate and concrete help to women who are victims of violence and, since 2009, also of stalking.
The Italian number is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and is free of charge across the country, on both fixed and mobile networks. The service is also available in Italian, English, French, Spanish, Russian and Arabic. The telephone operators provide a first response to the needs of victims of gender-based violence and stalking, offering useful information and an indication of public and private social and health services operating at the local level. This telephone-based service enables victims to come forward gradually with the absolute guarantee of anonymity.
For the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women , Eni will participate in the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York, as a partner of the international tour Wounded to death the play, written and directed by Serena Dandini, in collaboration with Maura Misiti, a researcher at the CNR.
The theatre project is designed to give voice to the victims of femicide whose lives have been taken by a husband, a friend, a lover or a "former partner".
