Since 2007 Eni has supported the "M'illumino di meno" campaign promoted by Caterpillar the Rai RadioDue programme.
In recent years Eni has cooperated with the radio programme to build awareness about important projects associated with the aims of the "M'illumino di meno" campaign: methane for road transport, 360° energy efficiency, alternative (or non conventional) energy, research and innovation, efficiencies in customer assistance through the energy store chain.
In 2012 the event took place on 17 February : and the special testimonials on this occasion were mayors from across Italy, who were given a direct experience of what a "sustainable economy" might mean by implementing as many virtuous behaviours as possible.
Other protagonists of this year's effort were personal accounts of daily life given to: Caterpillar and CaterpillarAM who invited everyone to concentrate in a single day all of the virtuous actions to rationalise consumption, and trying out first hand good practices such as di:
- reducing waste;
- the production of clean energy;
- sustainable mobility (cycling, car sharing, public transport, walking)
- waste reduction (waste differentiation, recycling and reuse, cutting down waste food).
