San Donato Milanese (Milan), 4 September 2013 - Eni is a supporting partner of the International Music Festival MITO SettembreMusica, which is running from 4th to 21st September in Milan and Turin. The partnership between Eni and the festival has been renewed each year since its inception. The festival is one of the biggest music events in Europe and has a programme of around 150 events and a broad and diverse music offering that ranges from classical symphony music to baroque, contemporary and jazz, not to mention traditional non-European folk music.
Eni remains focused on the needs of society by supporting an event that promotes awareness of art in all of its forms - particularly amongst the younger generations - in two cities (Milan and Turin) that are not only important cultural centres but also of strategic importance and of key interest for the company.
This year in particular, Eni's commitment to the environment is evident through its support for the Bike'n'Jazz initiative. The initiative consists of three concerts in Milan powered by the Bike Energy System: a system of bicycles for use by the public. The pedalling of the bikes provides power to the stage and transforms the energy into music, helping to create sustainable concerts. The gatherings will take place every Thursday at 1 p.m. in Piazza San Fedele, with musical performances from the Henry Zanisi Trio, the Black Hole Quartet and Fulvio Sigurtà with Claudio Filippini. They will perform on the 5th , 12th and 19th of September respectively.
Support for the Green project Bike'n'Jazz allows Eni to encourage efforts to protect the environment, support a focus on the importance of the local area and promote culture - three key elements of the sustainable actions which Eni strongly identifies with.
