Eni, through its local subsidiary ArmWind LLP, has been awarded a 50 MWp photovoltaic project in the region of Turkestan, in southern Kazakhstan, as a result of an auction managed by the Kazakh Authorities
Eni, through its local renewable subsidiary ArmWind LLP, started the commercial production of the Badamsha Wind Farm located in North-West Kazakhstan, in the Aktobe Region. Badamsha Wind Farm has a capacity of 48 MW and will provide the Region with an annual power generation of about 198 GWh, with an overall CO2 saving of 172,000 tons per year.
Eni will develop its second project in the country, a 48 MW wind plant located North West of Kazakhstan.
Eni and GE Renewable Energy to power Badamsha plant, Eni’s first large-scale wind project in Kazakhstan
Eni and GE Renewable Energy today announced that GE will supply 13 of GE’s 3.8-130 onshore wind turbines, with a hub height of 85m, 3.8MW of power and a 130meter rotor, for the Badamsha project in Kazakhstan. With its 48MW of wind power the plant will increase the Country’s wind capacity by 25%.
The Kazakh Ministry of Energy, KazMunayGas and Eni signed a protocol of direct negotiations to grant the subsoil use right for exploration and production of hydrocarbons within joint operations on Abay, an offshore area in the Kazakhstani sector of the Caspian Sea.
