Adam, our photovoltaic plant in Tunisia

Expanses of solar panels in the Tunisian desert

The Adam photovoltaic power plant, located in the Tataouine Governorate in Tunisia, lies in close proximity to the hydrocarbon production plant and contributes to its power supply. The integration of the two plants on the industrial site confirms our commitment to the decarbonization of the Tunisian energy system.  At the Adam photovoltaic farm, as in the rest of the world, we generate energy from renewable sources to make our projects more sustainable. Tunisia has a target of generating 30% of its electricity from renewable energy sources by 2030. The south of the country, where our Adam and Tataouine power plants are located, is an ideal area for solar power generation.

The sun's energy to reduce emissions

We hold a 50% stake in the Adam photovoltaic plant in the Governorate of Tataouine, Tunisia.  The energy it generates reduces gas consumption and saves the equivalent of 6,500 tonnes per year of CO2eq emissions from the industrial site. The 5 MW power plant is part of our cooperation agreement with the state company Entreprise Tunisienne d'Activités Pétrolières (ETAP) for the development of renewable generation projects in Tunisia, which confirms our support for the country's energy transition process.
