Supercomputer Experience
An immersive and interactive journey to discover Eni’s Green Data Centre and the world of supercomputing.
Go to the specialThe web series with Carolina Tedeschi and Tom Shaw takes you inside the partnership between Eni and the BWT Alpine Formula One™ Team, with Enilive.
The web series is a behind-the-scenes pass to the places where innovation runs at maximum speed, inside Eni’s research centres and at the BWT Alpine Formula One™ Team headquarters in Enstone, UK.
Join Carolina and Tom across three episodes as they explore the most compelling sides of innovation: the power of supercomputing, the importance of research and the value of the people who make up the team.
Technology is a fascinating world and sometimes it is easier to use it than to truly understand it. That is why we asked two content creators to guide us through the collaboration between Eni and the BWT Alpine Formula One™ Team. Meet them, discover their skills and why they are here. Get ready to follow them on an immersive journey where you will meet the protagonists of technological innovation.
The Eni HPC6 supercomputer can process millions of billions of data per second, while the BWT Alpine Formula One™ Team’s driving simulator can reproduce every stress experienced by a single-seater during a race, monitoring every single data point. With Carolina and Tom you gain access to Eni’s Green Data Center in Ferrera Erbognone, where the HPC6 supercomputer analyses complex scenarios to develop new solutions for today’s and tomorrow’s energy. The journey then continues to Enstone, home to the BWT Alpine Formula One™ Team headquarters, to discover the work of technicians and engineers.

Go to the specialInnovation stems from the development of new processes and products. At Eni and at the BWT Alpine Formula One™ Team, research is a daily challenge: not a single experiment, but a method in which each phase builds on the previous one. Together with Carolina and Tom, we visit the Bolgiano Research Centre, the heart of Eni’s research. The journey continues with a visit to the Structure & Material Department in Enstone, home to the BWT Alpine Formula One™ Team, where high-tech materials are studied to make the car increasingly high-performing and lightweight.
Serving technological innovation, it is the foundation of our decarbonisation strategy.
Discover Eni’s researchThe ability to react in real time is an approach we share with the BWT Alpine Formula One™ Team, where the energy of people converges in teamwork. With Carolina and Tom, we enter our Digital Control Room, where engineers closely monitor our plants and check that they operate in line with the highest efficiency standards. The journey then continues with a visit to the BWT Alpine Formula One™ Team Operations Room, where every parameter of the car is analysed in real time, through an ongoing dialogue between the driver, the engineers and the headquarters.
We give the utmost attention to the social dimension of the energy transition, identifying the best solutions in full respect of human rights.
Discover Eni’s cultureOur journey through the world of technological innovation and speed comes to an end. Carolina and Tom are together again to look back at the highlights of their adventure with Eni and the BWT Alpine Formula One™ Team. HPC6 supercomputing power, advanced materials innovation and, above all, people: every element matters in research and development.
This strategic partnership reflects Eni’s commitment to developing advanced energy technologies and solutions, aligned with new mobility needs.
