Enilive and the Tour d’Europe

The Tour d’Europe crosses 20 European countries to raise awareness among the public and institutions on the contribution that fuels from renewable raw materials, such as HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil), can make to the decarbonization of transport.

The event at Palazzo Mattei

On Thursday 5 June 2025 the Tour d’Europe stopped in Rome at the Palazzo Mattei Conference Centre, with a dedicated session on decarbonising mobility.
Promoted by Enilive, the event featured Stefano Ballista (CEO, Enilive), Marco Petracchini (Chairman, Enilive) and Gilberto Pichetto Fratin (Minister for the Environment and Energy Security), along with other key figures from politics, academia and the automotive industry.

Organised by a broad network of companies, associations and institutions from the automotive and fuel supply chain, the Tour sees Enilive taking part in the tour as a leader in the production of HVO, a diesel biofuel made entirely from renewable raw materials*, primarily waste such as used cooking oil, animal fat and residue from the agri-food industry. HVO biofuel can also be used in approved engines in its pure form and is compatible with the current fuel distribution infrastructure. For light and heavy road transport, today the biofuel HVOlution is already available at more than 1,300 Enilive service stations across Europe.

Tour stops organised by Enilive

Since the start of the Tour d’Europe in March, several light and heavy vehicles have been travelling throughout 20 European countries, including stops at some of Enilive’s 1,300+ service stations supplying HVOlution across Europe. Following the two May stops - in Milan at the Palazzo della Regione Lombardia and in Rome at the Palazzo Mattei, Enilive concludes its series of events in Italy with two further days in June at its biorefineries in Gela (Sicily) and Porto Marghera, Venice, where HVO biofuel is produced.

The Tour d’Europe ends its run on 24th June in Brussels with an institutional event featuring the presentation of a report on the potential of renewable raw material-based fuels for the decarbonisation of transport.

We are taking a major step forward for the future of transport, showing that the course has already shifted. We will stay on this path, sharing expertise and know-how.
