With AMD, HPE, CINECA and Plug and Play, Eni provides access to advanced computing resources to build an open innovation ecosystem.
Eni is making the computing power of HPC6 available to drive the development of innovative computational methodologies applied to the energy transition. Through the HPC Call4Innovators programme, startups, SMEs, academic institutions and research centres will be able to use Europe’s most powerful supercomputer to test their models and collaborate with Eni’s experts, accelerating the development of decarbonisation technologies.
The HPC Call4Innovators programme is designed by Eni in collaboration with Advanced Micro Devices (AMD), Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE), and the University Consortium CINECA, with the support of Plug and Play. The aim is to identify new computing solutions to accelerate the energy sector’s process towards decarbonisation and technological innovation.
Participants in the Call can submit their projects across five strategic focus areas. The selected winners will gain access to a world-class technological infrastructure and Eni’s network of specialised expertise. This opportunity will enable them to optimise development time and costs, test solutions in an advanced industrial computing environment, and fast-track their entry and growth in the market.
The Call is open to startups, scaleups, universities, research centres, innovative SMEs, public/private joint laboratories and independent professionals. Applicants are invited to submit an innovative simulation or modelling project using an HPC environment, within one of the five strategic focus areas:
Development of advanced new materials, biomaterials and innovative catalyst.
Improving climate prediction models and environmental impact analysis.
Energy resources and portfolio management optimization.
Enhancing the design and operation of energy plants and infrastructure.
Designing advanced solutions for routing, demand optimisation and sustainable mobility management.
To apply, candidates must submit a detailed plan outlining their proposed workflow and the specific use of the available computing resources. The assessment, carried out by Eni in collaboration with its partners, will be based on criteria such as innovation, technical feasibility and originality of the proposal, energy sustainability, potential business impact and compatibility with the HPC6 infrastructure.
From 10 June to 7 August 2025, you can take part in the programme by visiting the website and completing the application form provided by the Technical Assessment Committee.*
