The Sustainable Water Management Project is an initiative launched in Kenya to promote access to water by drilling wells and building a desalination plant. The initiative was created to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants of Pate Island, located in the Lamu Basin, where our exploration activities are concentrated. We promote efficient water management, through activities and projects also in other countries, because clean water is one of the basic requirements of our commitment to sustainability.
In Kenya, we work to facilitate the socio-economic development of the territory, including programmes that encourage the creation and start-up of micro-enterprises, access to education and energy.

The initiative, which also facilitates wider access to toilets, was achieved by raising awareness and educating local communities. The desalination plant, built using reverse osmosis technology that removes salt and pollutants from the water, is powered exclusively by renewable energy.
Water conservation activities are also are underway in the Republic of Congo, Angola, Iraq and Indonesia. Alongside this, we aim to decrease freshwater consumption in business activities to reduce environmental impact, especially in water-stressed areas.
