Taranto July 13 2013 – A small phenomenon, moderated, and that did not cause any environmental emergency. This is what emerged at the end of the end of the intervention of environmental protection of the waters off the discharge of refinery carried out by the concessionaire for anti-pollution activities.
Operation’s report on the closure, prepared by the concessionaire, states that there has been a recovery of only 100 liters of water containing minimum levels of hydrocarbons so low that it raises no concerns regarding environmental protection of the sea or links to the pollution that the city has been warned about.
The results of the analyzes confirm that is not attributable to the refinery what has been described by many as a " big spillage at sea " and cause bad odors in the city.
As already stated, however, by the supervisory body, remains confirmed the smallness of the phenomenon, its containment and the absolute absence, even transient, of any environmental emergency. After the definition of ongoing investigations by the Prosecutor's Office, Eni is available to a comparison with the institutions and the territory.
