Eni as partner of the exhibition A bigger Picture by David Hockney continues its circle of cultural partnership, which had its beginning in Germany with the Motor GP (main sponsor since 2010) and now is to be continued in supporting one of the worlds best known Artists.
For Eni, Hockney (75) with his famous swimmingpool-paintings like "a bigger splash" or the slightly ironical "flight into Italy" from the 60ies, his manner of using very strong colors, his past of being a stage designer as well as the illustrator for fantasy books and last but not least the fact that nowadays he even realizes his paintings on the iPad, not could be other than the symbol for energy.
Eni has the credo culture of energy, energy of culture, for expressing its engagement as partner in sustaining art and culture in all countries where the are active. A tradition that derives from the founder Enrico Mattei, who always loved art and never stopped searching new talents to support and promote.
The engagement in supporting the exhibition of David Hockney underlines the involvement Eni shows for contemporary artists.
At the same time Eni has, in being main partner of the exhibition dedicated to Raphaels late work, renewed its commitment as "mécène Principal" of major exhibitions at the Louvre as they had been in former years for exhibitions of Georges de la Tour, Leonardo da Vinci and Tiziano.
