Eni and GE Renewable Energy start construction works at Badamsha Wind Farm site

Eni and GE Renewable Energy started today the construction works of the Badamsha Wind Farm in Kazakhstan, where 13 GE 3.8-130 onshore wind turbines, with a hub height of 85m, 3.8MW of power and a 130meter rotor, will be installed.

Aktobe, December 10, 2018 – Eni and GE Renewable Energy (NYSE:GE) started today the construction works of the Badamsha Wind Farm in Kazakhstan, where 13 GE 3.8-130 onshore wind turbines, with a hub height of 85m, 3.8MW of power and a 130meter rotor, will be installed. Located in the north-west region in the Aktobe oblast, Badamsha represents Eni’s first large-scale investment in wind power and GE’s first wind onshore plant in Kazakhstan.

This initiative is part of a wide-ranging collaboration between Eni and GE Renewable Energy to cooperatively promote and develop renewable energy sources. The 48MW wind project marks the beginning of a collaboration that will significantly increase the Country’s wind capacity.

Eni is pleased to fully support the Country’s ambitious goal to procure 50% of its energy from renewable sources by 2050, while GE Renewable Energy aims to make affordable, reliable, renewable energy available to more people around the world.

Eni has been present in Kazakhstan since 1992. Eni is joint operator of the Karachaganak field and is an equity partner in various projects in the Northern Caspian Sea, including the giant Kashagan field. In 2018 Eni became joint operator in the exploration block Isatay, with the national company KMG.
