Eni, through its subsidiary Eni East Sepinggan Limited and Neptune Energy Group Limited, through its subsidiary Neptune Energy East Sepinggan BV, have completed the transfer of a 20% participating interest in the East Sepinggan area out of Eni’s share to Neptune Energy Group Limited. Eni, with 65% participating interest, will continue to be the Operator of the area which is located in the East Sepinggan area.
Eni will start with the execution of the Merakes Development Project in Indonesia following the approval received by the Minister of Energy of Indonesia and the authorization for the investment plan sanctioned by the company’s Board of Directors.

Eni announces the approval of the Plan of Development (POD) for the Merakes field located in the East Sepinggan PSC in the Makassar Strait, offshore East Kalimantan, Indonesia. The Minister of Energy has granted the approval and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia, just 3 months after the submission of the plan and less than eleven months after Eni started production from its deep water operated asset in Indonesia, the Jangkrik fields complex in the Muara Bakau PSC.
The North Ganal Block covers an area of 2,432 square km in the Kutei Basin, a prolific hydrocarbon province, with several giant discoveries already in production.
The start-up of Jangkrik, scheduled by the first half of the year and following the start-up of East Hub in Angola, further confirms Eni’s industry-leading time-to-market capabilities
