We are committed to supporting an energy transition with the goal of preserving the planet.
Our commitment for the planet
Our actions to preserve the environment are based on criteria of precaution, protection, information and participation, in all countries where we operate. The conservation of biodiversity and responsible water and natural resource management contribute to mitigating climate change by acting on the capacity of ecosystems to absorb and store carbon. The protection of natural systems also promotes resilience and adaptation to the effects of extreme climate events. Preserving the natural terrestrial, aquatic and marine environment, producing and guaranteeing energy available for all, accompanying sustainable consumption patterns are just some of the goals 150 world leaders set in New York, at the United Nations headquarters, by signing the 2030 Agenda, which contains the Sustainable Development Goals. The same goals that, as a global energy tech company, we embrace as guidelines for our company's actions and investments.

A cultural renewal programme
We have built an internal system to improve the culture and awareness of Eni people and our suppliers with respect to environmental issues.
The Environment Campaign was launched on internal communication channels accessible worldwide with video testimonials from working environments.
We have supported our suppliers’ commitment with the Environment and Safety Pact.
We have launched a campaign to promote the application of our Environmental Golden Rules in every work context.
Our management of water, air, soil and the preservation of biodiversity is based on the criteria of prevention, protection, information and participation. In spreading the culture of environmental responsibility, we directly involve Eni people, suppliers and also local communities.

Environmental management
We use the most advanced technologies and technical standards for health, safety and environment (HSE) in our activities. Our integrated HSE management system aims to provide an effective tool for environmental, health and safety aspects at work.
Systems certified according to ISO 14001
We refer to Environmental Management Systems certified according to the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) ISO 14001 standard on Environmental Management Systems (EMS) (see the List of certifications obtained by Eni subsidiaries for more information). For the maintenance and renewal of the certificate, third-party audits are carried out annually and every three years respectively, in accordance with the provisions of the standard.
