The Prime Minister of Egypt Mustafa Kemal Madbouly meets Eni’s Chief Operating Officer Global Natural Resources, Guido Brusco

San Donato Milanese (Italy), September 25, 2025 – The Prime Minister of the Arab Republic of Egypt Mustafa Kemal Madbouly met Eni Chief Operating Officer Global Natural Resources, Guido Brusco, to review the company’s ongoing activities and future plans in the Country. The meeting was also attended by Egypt’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Karim Badawi, and other institutional representatives.

During the meeting, Eni’s activities in Egypt were discussed with a focus on initiatives, both onshore and offshore, aimed at supporting natural gas and oil production by leveraging the company’s extensive asset portfolio. Main focus areas are short-cycle gas exploration, life extension of mature onshore fields and development of the East Med integrated gas hub.

Eni’s exploration in Egypt will target opportunities that might leverage synergies with nearby existing infrastructure, maximizing operational efficiency as well as contributing to the Country’s energy security. In this framework, following the agreement signed in July 2025 to extend Temsah concession, the COO updated the PM on the related workplan and planned drilling activities.

Guido Brusco also reviewed the company’s effort to extending and valorizing production from onshore assets through the implementation of subsurface technologies (seismics, Enhanced Oil Recovery) and the relaunch of development activities over the next few years.

Furthermore, Eni reiterated its engagement and commitment towards Egypt’s ambition to grow as a gas hub in the East Med Region, thanks to the presence of significant gas processing and liquefaction infrastructures, a fit-to-purpose enabler for the development of new domestic gas projects as well as international ventures such as Cronos, Eni’s discovery  in Block 6 offshore Cyprus.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of an HSE Safety Day, an initiative co-hosted by Eni and the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources aiming to promote a culture of safety and sustainability, engaging employees, stakeholders and partners to strengthen the commitment to protect people and the environment.

Eni operates in Egypt through its subsidiary IEOC and is currently the leading producer in the Country, with a hydrocarbon production of approximately 280,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in Eni’s share in 2024.
