Plenitude enters partnership with the Olimpia Milano basketball team

Milan, 6 October 2022 - Plenitude, a Società Benefit 100% owned by Eni – present on the market with a unique business model integrating production from renewables, the sale of energy solutions and an extensive network of charging points for electric vehicles -- is proud to be the main partner for the international activities of Olimpia Milano, the 29-time Italian champion basketball club.

With this partnership, Plenitude intends to further contribute through sport to the promotion of a culture of sustainability and innovation, principles that as a Società Benefit it already pursues. In 2021 Plenitude was the first major company in the energy sector to become a Società Benefit by incorporating into its Articles of Association the goal of having a positive impact on society and the environment alongside its profit targets.

Together with Olimpia Milano, Plenitude aims to develop education and energy qualification initiatives in line with the Armani Group’s sustainability strategy.

Plenitude has chosen Olimpia Milano because of the team's prestige in European countries throughout the Euroleague , Europe’s premier basketball competition.

Plenitude CEO Stefano Goberti said: “We are excited to be supporting Olimpia Milano and furthering our commitment to spreading the culture of sustainability in sport as well – especially in basketball, which is considered one of the popular ways to bring communities together. Basketball and sport in general, can contribute to improving people’s social lives and champion values such as courage, passion, sharing, solidarity, inclusion and fair play; the founding principles of any healthy society and invaluable tools to build skills that can be transferred to other life contexts”.

Olimpia Milano General Manager Christos Stavropoulos said: “We are happy to enter this partnership with Plenitude, an important company that has conveyed to us above all else its willingness to share with us the social principles and values that have always characterised our club. This partnership has all the elements it needs to last for a long time. We are proud to export such a prestigious brand across Europe during the Euroleague”.
