BUSINESS MEETINGS AND AGREEMENTS

The National Oil Corporation Chairman Farhat Omar Bengdara meets Eni’s CEO Claudio Descalzi

Rome (Italy), 24 August 2022 – The NOC Chairman, Farhat Omar Bengdara, along with a delegation of NOC’s senior executives, met in Rome today Eni’s CEO Claudio Descalzi, to discuss Eni's activity in the country and strategic projects.

Claudio Descalzi confirmed to the NOC Chairman Eni’s full commitment towards operational activities in the Country and expressed the willingness to launch a new phase of investments aimed at increasing the gas output of the Country, leveraging on the significant exploration potential as well as on the existing facilities which grant access to the domestic and the European export markets. Eni CEO and NOC Chairman also discussed on implementation of renewables projects in the Country.

The CEO of Eni welcomed the NOC plan to increase the daily output of the Country up to 2 million barrels of oil per day and reaffirmed Eni’s support to reach this target for the mutual benefit of the parties.

Eni has been present in Libya since 1959 and is in a joint venture with the state company NOC. The company is the leading international hydrocarbon producer in the country.
