Eni becomes the first Italian company to obtain the ISO 37001:2016 “Antibribery Management Systems” certificate of conformity for its Anti-Corruption Compliance Program

San Donato Milanese (Milan), 25 January 2017 – Eni informs that it has successfully completed the process of verification carried out by the certification company RINA Services SpA, leading certification body in Italy, to evaluate the conformity of Eni SpA Anti-Corruption Compliance Program with the requirements of ISO 37001:2016 "Antibribery Management Systems", the first international standard for the management of antibribery systems

Eni is the first Italian company to receive that certification.

Following the release of the standard by the International Organization for Standardization on 15 October 2016, Eni started the certification process, which involved two audits by the certifying company aimed at verifying, through documentary checks, the adequacy of Eni SpA Anti-Corruption Compliance Program (stage 1), and its implementation through checks and interviews with people on the ground (stage 2).

The ISO 37001:2016 Certification confirms the quality of the system of rules and controls aimed at preventing corruption, developed by Eni since 2009 in line with the principle of "zero tolerance" expressed in its Code of Ethics.
