Rome, 26 February 2014 – Eni has purchased a 51% share in the company Acam Clienti S.p.A. following the completion of the tender process, as announced by Acam S.p.A. following authorisation from the Italian Competition Authority.
The company, which operates primarily in the province of La Spezia, has approximately 98,000 residential gas customers and around 12,000 electricity customers (small to mid-sized enterprises).
Eni, which already owned 49% of Acam Clienti’s share capital, now owns all of the company’s shares.
The operation confirms Eni’s commitment to the retail gas and electricity market, an area in which it has consolidated experience.
Thanks to this initiative, gas and electricity customers in the La Spezia area will gradually become eligible to enjoy the benefits Eni has to offer, such as customised products and packages and a multichannel system for contacting the company, which includes:
- one of Europe’s best Contact Centres;
- a website offering advanced functions such as the submission of meter readings, direct debiting of bills, consumption forecasts, energy check-ups in the home and much more;
- a smartphone and tablet app offering the same functions as the website;
- local Eni energy stores.
