San Donato Milanese (Milan), 2 April, 2012 – Eni has started production from the Marulk field in the Norwegian offshore located about 200 km from the coast. The Marulk field is the first field that Eni has directly operated in Norway and is part of the PL122 license held by Eni (20%) with Statoil (50%) and DONG (30%).
Marulk is a gas and condensate field, with estimated reserves of 74.7 million barrels of oil equivalent, and produces 20,000 boe/d, 4,000 of which belong to Eni.
The field, whose Plan for Development and Operation (PDO) has been approved by the Ministry of Oil and Energy in July 2010, has been developed through a "fast-track" development project in less than two years.
Eni has been present in Norway since 1965 where it now produces about 135,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.
