Abidjan, 29 April 2026 - Eni, in collaboration with Doctors with Africa CUAMM, today announces the results of the “Projet Santé pour Tous”, a three-year initiative launched in 2023 to strengthen Côte d’Ivoire’s healthcare system, with a particular focus on maternal and child health and nutrition.
The project has operated across three strategic pillars: it has strengthened the capacity of the Ministry of Health and faith-based organizations to coordinate and monitor maternal, child and nutrition services in a more integrated manner; it has enhanced the resilience of the network and its ability to deliver quality services; and it has upgraded and equipped selected health facilities with modern infrastructure and equipment. This integrated approach, fully aligned with national priorities, has made essential services more robust and accessible for the most vulnerable populations.
The interventions have improved healthcare infrastructure and equipment in 13 facilities that serve over 175,000 beneficiaries. Among them, 8 facilities have been upgraded, 5 of which have been equipped with solar panels; 11 centers have received medical equipment and 12 have been supplied with essential medicines. Emergency response capacity has also been strengthened through the provision of 4 ambulances.
In addition, a comprehensive training program has been implemented, involving more than 400 healthcare workers in key areas, including healthcare service management, maternal and child health, nutrition, infection prevention and control, and pharmaceutical management, contributing to the strengthening of staff skills and the overall quality of care.
A further significant achievement is the integration of 70 health centers into the national healthcare system. Previously not included in the public network, these facilities have now been geo-mapped and are fully operational, contributing to the expansion of healthcare coverage in line with national priorities.
The initiative is part of a broader program aimed at strengthening primary healthcare services in the most vulnerable areas of Côte d’Ivoire, contributing to improved access to care and to the reduction of pregnancy-related complications and child mortality.
Eni has been present in Côte d’Ivoire since 2015, where it has made the country’s two largest hydrocarbon discoveries, Baleine and Calao. The company is committed to energy production and is promoting a progressively more sustainable development through projects in education, training, healthcare and economic diversification.
