- BUSINESS MEETINGS AND AGREEMENTS
Abidjan - June 30, 2025 - In the presence of the Ambassador of Italy to Côte d'Ivoire, H.E. Arturo Luzzi, Eni Côte d'Ivoire signed today a Letter of Intent (LoI) with the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) to create positive synergies and maximize the impact of the parties’ actions to improve the well-being of communities in Côte d'Ivoire.
Potential areas of cooperation include economic development and diversification, education, technical and vocational training, water, sanitation and hygiene, community health and youth employability and entrepreneurship.
The agreement reflects Eni and Italian Cooperation shared commitment to sustainable development and inclusive growth in Côte d'Ivoire. By working together, the parties aim to strengthen their collaboration, contributing to the long-term well-being of the communities and to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development that guide the Italian Cooperation actions.
Letters of Intents have also been signed between Eni subsidiaries and AICS in Nairobi (Kenya), Cairo (Egypt), Maputo (Mozambique) and Tripoli (Libya).
Eni
Eni has been present in Côte d'Ivoire since 2015, and has made the two largest discoveries to date in the country, Baleine and Calao. The company is committed to energy production as well as to sustainable development through projects in education, training, healthcare, and economic diversification, aligning its efforts with the country’s national development plans.
AICS
The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), within the guidelines defined by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI), is the technical body responsible for carrying out the activities related to the identification, evaluation, formulation, financing, management and monitoring of cooperation projects. The Agency was established by the cooperation reform law (Law No. 125/2014) and began operating in 2016, with a central office in Rome and one in Florence, as well as 20 offices abroad, 10 of which are located in Africa. In Côte d'Ivoire, AICS has a long-standing cooperation experience with the Government, Civil Society Organizations as well as Agencies of the United Nations system.
