The electrification project for health centers conceived by ANPG, Eni Angola and partners of Block 15/06 invests on the use of renewable energies to increase the quality of life of the Angolan population. The delivery of one more solar system, to the Kididi Health Center, in Luanda, will allow to serve the community with solar energy, without interruptions.

Luanda (Angola), 12 February  2021 - The National Agency of Oil, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG), as the National Concessionaire, Eni Angola, operator of Block 15/06, and its partners Sonangol P&P and Sinopec officially delivered today another solar system, this one of 12 KW, to the Kididi Health Center, in the municipality of Belas, Luanda.

This action of social support was attended, among others, by the National Director of Petroleum, Alcides Santos; the Chairman of Block 15/06, Américo do Nascimento, representing ANPG; and the Managing Director of Eni in Angola, Matteo Bacchini.

The National Director of Petroleum welcomes the capacity that ANPG, the operators and their partners have had to socially support the Angolan communities. "A support that greatly contributes to the population's access to essential goods such as good health care," said Alcides Santos.

For the ANPG representative this is one more action that contributes to the common good and that promotes the use of renewable energies in Angola, something that is becoming more and more usual all over the world, once it contributes to the use of natural resources and the preservation of the environment. In addition, Américo do Nascimento stressed the importance that this electrification project of health centers has for the country and for the populations that each one of them serves. "This action is one more step that we take towards improving the living conditions of the populations, more specifically on the health issue. It is something we can and should be proud of - all of us: ANPG, Eni Angola and Block 15/06 partners."

Matteo Bacchini, Managing Director of Eni Angola, is very satisfied with the results of this solar system, which is part of an integrated strategy with the aim to support social projects in the country. "This is already the 11th solar system that we deliver, which means that we have taken energy daily to 11 different communities in the provinces of Luanda, Huila, and Namibe. And we will not stop here. we will continue to work and to invest in our values of citizenship and in the support that we can give to the communities in Angola, a country that has welcomed us so well.”

Angola plays a key role in the growth strategy of Eni, which has been present in the country since 1980. In addition to Block 15/06, Eni currently operates the Cabinda Norte Block, Block 1/14, Cabinda Centro Block and Block 28.
