Focus Live 2025: Eni’s immersive installation on HPC6 and AI
As part of a long-standing partnership between Eni and Focus, the 2025 edition of Focus Live returns to Milan from 7 to 9 November at the Leonardo da Vinci National Museum of Science and Technology. Now in its eighth year and dedicated to the theme of “Passion”, the festival offers a unique opportunity to explore science and innovation through a rich programme of talks, workshops and interactive experiences. As Main Partner of the event, Eni strengthens its commitment to science outreach by sharing its technological innovation.
Centre stage in Eni’s presence at Focus Live is “Supercalcolo, Super passione” [Supercomputing, super passion] an interactive, immersive installation designed and produced by Amigdala.ch in collaboration with Eni. It illustrates the world of supercomputing, the quiet force that powers research, industry and our everyday life.
Inside the installation, each visitor, through their own choices, can create a unique narrative in both text and voice co-generated in real time with an artificial intelligence system. The experience begins by selecting a scientific domain, such as medicine or engineering, and then answering a few simple questions on a touch screen. The AI then produces a short story, which is displayed on screen and delivered through a natural-sounding voice. The voice track of each story is added to those that came before, forming an ever-evolving soundscape that becomes the event’s collective memory.

Eni’s supercomputer HPC6 is one of the most powerful worldwide and the world’s first supercomputer for industrial use. It delivers peak performance of around 606 PFlop/s - more than 600 quadrillion mathematical operations per second. This large computing power becomes even more valuable when applied to artificial intelligence.
The value of AI depends on data quality and validation, and on flows integrated into business processes. For this reason, Eni adopts a responsible, human-centred approach - in line with the European AI Act - invests in skills and has created centres of excellence to oversee the entire project lifecycle, from prototyping to industrialisation.
