Chairman of the Board
Born in Rome in 1969, she has served as Chairman of the Board of Eni SpA since 6 May 2026.
She is also a member of the Board of Directors of LUISS Business School (since May 2022) and of the University of Rome Tor Vergata (since May 2025). Since 2026, she has been an Academic Fellow at the Department of Legal Studies of Bocconi University in Milan, within the “LL.M. in Law of Technology and Automated Systems” programme.
In 1998, she joined Lucent Technologies Bell Labs Innovations, a company that subsequently became part of Alcatel‑Lucent (from 2006) and later of Nokia (from 2016). Over the years, she held a number of senior leadership and strategic roles of increasing responsibility, culminating in her appointment in April 2020 as Chief Executive Officer and Vice Chairman of Nokia Italia, a position she held until May 2023.
From May 2023 to May 2026, she served as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Terna SpA.
She has also held numerous board and advisory roles, including Chairman of the Board of Directors of GPI SpA; member of the Executive MBA Board at LUMSA University; member of the Advisory Board on Foreign Investors of Confindustria; member of the Board of Directors of Cefriel; member of the General Council of Anitec Assinform and of the Executive Committee of Assolombarda; member of the Advisory Boards of Sole 24 Ore Formazione, B20 Italy and B7 Italy 2024; as well as Vice Chairman of GO15, the global association of Very Large Power Grid Operators for electricity transmission.
She has received several awards and honours and in 2021 she was appointed Cavaliere del Lavoro della Repubblica Italiana in recognition of her contribution to the field of “Information and Communication Technologies”.
She holds a degree in Electronic Engineering from Sapienza University of Rome and is a licensed professional engineer. Her academic background also includes a Master’s degree in Professional Program Management from the Stevens Institute of Technology (New Jersey, United States), as well as executive and general management programmes at SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan and LUISS Business School in Rome.
