We operate according to the principles of the circular economy, to enhance the value of industrial land and waste, through efficient and sustainable remediation and revaluation projects, in Italy and abroad. Our work is based on passion, expertise and technological research technological research to regenerate soil, water and recoverable resources. We are also committed to the transformation of the Organic Fraction of Municipal Solid Waste (OFMSW) into bio-oil, coupled with water reuse. This is done through the development and operation of industrial plants that use Eni's proprietary Waste to Fuel technology. We own about 3,760 hectares of land in Italy, the majority of which is located in Sites of National Priority. Since 2003, we have spent 3,4 billion euros on environmental projects: 85% has been employed on sites conferred by law or acquired through mergers, as part of the historic industrial rescue operations that Eni had to take over when it was a state-owned company in the 1980s and 1990s. Thanks to the know-how we have acquired over the years, we are now a global environmental contractor for all of Eni's business lines, including upstream, refining, chemicals and commercial activities.
