The Joule Discovery Lab For Eni People is continuing to support the work of Eni’s departments, beginning in 2026 with a problem-solution fit programme on Security Management. This co-development laboratory brought together internal and external technological expertise to assess and validate market solutions applicable to the Eni context: from requirements analysis to operational implementation.
The two-day bootcamp "The Future of Security Management", which took place at the Eni office in Castel Gandolfo on 24 and 25 February, was organised by Joule to begin work on the evolution of Eni's Security Management platform, following an integrated open innovation approach. The platform is a key tool for the company and, by working with external partners, it will be possible to accelerate the search for an innovative and market-proven technological solution that can effectively respond to future needs.
Alfio Rapisarda, Head of Global Security at Eni, said: "We chose to participate this programme because we want to harness Joule's dynamism and creativity to grasp new tech opportunities in the market and apply them to Eni's security. Our objective is to find an innovative tool for long-term use.” He added: “We must be innovative but, more importantly, open to adopting a practical new system that can help us to work better."
During an open discussion involving Eni staff, technology specialists and mentors, the working groups at the bootcamp aimed to address business requirements and establish the foundations for the new project's design. Next there will be a period of working with partners in the Italian ecosystem – such as incubators, research institutions and universities – to identify startups and SMEs capable of meeting these business needs.
