Joule continues its innovation programme in the city of Taranto. Since October 2025, the Joule hub has been up and running in the new “Al Salto di Quota” space, set to become a centre for startups and innovators in the region.
Joule’s acceleration programme helps dozens of startups each year in cutting-edge fields such as decarbonisation, renewable energy, circular economy, digitalisation and agribusiness. It offers non-equity support, tailored mentoring, tools for measuring sustainable impact, and connections to an extensive network of businesses, research institutions and venture capital. Its presence in Taranto sends a clear message: the city can become a centre for innovation and change across the Mediterranean.
Mattia Voltaggio, Head of Joule, says: “The Joule hub in Taranto aims to give young entrepreneurs in southern Italy immediate access to the tools and expertise needed to turn their ideas into real projects. Creating an innovation ecosystem that begins at the local level is a crucial step towards industrial transformation.”
“Al Salto di Quota,” conceived by Taranto 25, is envisioned as a dynamic and communal space designed for coworking, sharing ideas, training and cultural events. A hub for members, associations, students, startups, professionals, and entrepreneurs to foster collaboration and boost the skills that drive the city and its surrounding area. The community centre will provide Taranto with a space that’s not just a place of business, but a cradle for innovation and talent. It will be a place that creates real opportunities, engaging with leading national and international players while staying deeply connected to the local area.
“For Fondazione Taranto 25, the ‘Al Salto di Quota’ building is both an end and a beginning,” says Fabio Tagarelli, President of Fondazione Taranto 25. “It is the result of collective hard work in the community that creates tangible opportunities. We take pride in providing Taranto and its surrounding area with a venue that celebrates local talent while also engaging with leading national and international figures. We believe this hub can symbolise confidence and the promise of a better future, creating value for the area through innovation, culture, sport and inclusion. A great leap upwards: open to the world, inspiring and welcoming.”
