In recent years, the relationship between business and society has changed, reflecting the transformation of the community in which we live.
Convinced that the world of culture in general is a fundamental element for growth and development of the company, Eni is committed to the promotion and support of various cultural projects.
By creating in 2006 the slogan «Culture of energy, energy of the culture », Eni has maintained and confirmed the commitment of its founder Mr. Enrico Mattei to promote the relationship between industry and culture.
The relationship with the Louvre began in 2008 through the support of the exhibition "Mantegna". The collaboration was so successful that the following year, Eni decided not only to renew the alliance but also to sign a partnership agreement with the French institution that qualifies Eni of «outstanding patron of the Louvre» with its name permanently etched in the famous Pyramid.
Thanks to this prestigious multi-year agreement, Eni and the Louvre were able to support and develop several cultural projects in France and Italy.
Eni was the "principal sponsor" of temporary exhibitions in Paris such as " Titien, Tintoret, Veronese… Rivalités à Venise" in 2009 and " L'Antiquité Rêvée" in 2010.
Meanwhile, Eni has become the ambassador of the Louvre in Italy having the opportunity to borrow each year a masterpiece of painting from the museum and exhibit free to the public through the Italian organization of a monographic exhibition.
After "Saint John the Baptist" by Leonardo da Vinci in 2009 and the "Woman in the Mirror" by Titian in 2010, this fall will be the turn of the French painter Georges de La Tour.
The partnership includes other activities such as support major restorations or sessions of study days for the purpose of exploration and explanation of the technique of the most important artists and the opportunity for Eni to use Museum site for private tours or events.
Eni has its own page on the site of the Louvre Museum which is dedicated to its main sponsors.
