Kerosene is a product largely obtained from the primary distillation of crude oil. Stocks coming from conversion plants, such as hydrocracking, can also be used in the formulation, while stocks from catalytic and thermal cracking plants are generally not used. On average, kerosene has a distillation interval between 180°C and 280°C. The main use for kerosene is in aviation turbine engines.
