Our activity in Spain covers different areas of the energy market. Our presence in the renewable energy sector is all the more important thanks to Plenitude, which is making increased contributions to the country’s decarbonisation objectives, as well as to those in Europe with its photovoltaic and wind power plants.
Through Eni España Comercializadora de Gas, we are involved in the procurement and sale of natural gas. We are also involved in parallel in the production and sale of lubricants through our subsidiary Eni Iberia, and we are active in the chemical industry through Versalis International, our commercial subsidiary.

How we operate in country
A diversified presence between renewables, natural and chemical gas
In Spain, through Plenitude, we produce energy from renewable sources to offer more sustainable energy supply solutions for households and businesses and for the electricity market. In addition, some important agreements for the development of wind and photovoltaic installations in the country are contributing to the progressive decarbonisation of the electricity sector and facilitating the energy transition, whilst also enabling new jobs to be created. Plenitude is committed to the conservation of ecosystems; in fact, a protection plan for biodiversity is active in the areas of the Raposeras and Cuevas wind farms in cooperation with the local administration and other entities.
In the Iberian market, we are also involved in the procurement and sale of natural gas through Eni España Comercializadora de Gas, which deals with industrial customers and wholesalers, small and medium-sized companies and cogeneration market operators. We are also involved in the production and marketing of lubricants through our sister company Eni Iberia, as well as in the distribution of fuel beyond our network. We are active in the chemical sector through Versalis International's Barcelona office, and in the trading sector through Eni Trading & Shipping, Lastly, with Eni Iberia we operate 9 high-capacity service stations located on the main transport axes in the Iberian Peninsula.
