Eni: i test sugli autobus torinesi confermano che il nuovo carburante ecologico "Eni Diesel più" contribuisce alla riduzione dell’inquinamento
I risultati della sperimentazione avviata con la Città di Torino, GTT e Amiat nel luglio scorso evidenzia la riduzione delle polveri sottili del 40% e del particolato del 16%

Torino, 23 ottobre 2017 – L’utilizzo del carburante “Eni Diesel più” fa ridurre le polveri sottili del 40%, il particolato del 16%, gli NOx del 10% e la CO2 del 7%. Sono questi i risultati dei test effettuati su un autobus euro 3 dell’azienda di trasporto pubblico torinese nel Centro ricerche Eni a San Donato Milanese, in collaborazione con l’Istituto Motori del CNR di Napoli. Il test sul mezzo pubblico era previsto dall’accordo sottoscritto il 4 luglio scorso da Eni e La Città di Torino insieme a GTT - Gruppo Torinese Trasporti e Amiat, società del Gruppo Iren, finalizzato ad avviare un progetto di sperimentazione su larga scala basato sull’utilizzo da parte degli autobus torinesi di “Eni Diesel più”, il nuovo carburante di Eni che contiene il 15% di componente rinnovabile e che fino al 31 ottobre verrà rifornito ai 650 mezzi di GTT.
I risultati evidenziano quindi che l’utilizzo di “Eni Diesel più”, oltre ad avere ridotto i consumi di circa il 2%, riduzione che può arrivare fino al 4% nel lungo periodo tenendo conto del mantenimento della pulizia del motore, ha contribuito significativamente all’abbattimento di tutti i principali inquinanti, in particolare del particolato ultrafine, le cosiddette polveri sottili (intorno a 1nm), l’inquinante che rimane in sospensione per lunghi periodi di tempo e che si deposita negli alveoli polmonari e che proprio in questi giorni sta destando tanta preoccupazione per i dati dell’aria nella Valle Padana. I test hanno anche dimostrato che il particolato rimanente che viene emesso a seguito della combustione presenta un contenuto di inquinanti, in particolare i PNA polinucleari aromatici, inferiore del 40%.
La riduzione delle emissioni è dovuta alla composizione del nuovo “Eni Diesel più” che, contenendo una componente biologica rinnovabile del 15% in cui non sono presenti aromatici e poliaromatici (precursori del particolato) ed un bassissimo livello di zolfo, permette una combustione più omogenea e una riduzione della temperatura media di combustione, con conseguente calo degli ossidi di azoto. La componente rinnovabile viene prodotta dalla Bioraffineria Eni di Venezia, grazie a una tecnologia proprietaria in grado di convertire qualsiasi tipo di olio vegetale e grasso animale in gasolio di alta qualità, compresi gli oli alimentari esausti o le cariche vegetali non edibili che già oggi vengono utilizzate per produrre “Eni Diesel più”.
Eni prevede di coprire l’intero fabbisogno italiano di biocarburanti entro il 2020, grazie anche allo start up della raffineria di Gela, e di produrre energia e carburanti anche da materie prime avanzate, ricorrendo a tecnologie innovative.
