Eni is present in the Far East in the marketing of oil products since 2010, when the company decided to open the Eni trading & shipping Singapore branch, with the with the aim of increasing the opportunity to seize the best opportunities for global supply opportunities at competitive prices for Eni (through regional and interregional arbitrage) and providing Eni's "best in-class" services to Asian customers.
In the lubrication sector, Eni is present in Singapore through a Joint Venture with JX Nippon Oil and Singapore Petroleum Company created in 2008 for the management of the ENEOS Italsing lubricant production plant.
The shares of the JV are as follows: JX Nippon OIl 55%; Eni 22.5%; Singapore Petroleum Company 22.5%.
The plant produces about 60,000 tons of lubricants per year, which are made available to the three partner owners and important third party operators such as Valvoline, for sales in the APAC area.From the plant in Singapore, in addition to the plant in Livorno, Eni supplies almost all the APAC countries, including Australia and New Zealand, in addition to China through Eni Lubricants Trading Shanghai, in collaboration with more than 100 commercial partners and with a sales volume of around 10,000 tons of finished lubricants per year.
In the chemical sector, Versalis Singapore was opened at the end of 2017 as a further step in the strategy of internationalization pursued by the company. Versalis was already present in the Asia-Pacific region with commercial offices in Shanghai, Qingdao, Mumbai and Singapore.
