DOMENICO NOVIELLO, CHAIRMAN, ENI FOUNDATION
Our healthcare projects across Sub-Saharan Africa have improved living conditions for the populations of the countries involved. Here are a few examples.
We administered more than 430,000 doses of vaccine and reached almost 1,000 villages with an awareness campaign focused on prevention.
More than 30,000 women received pre-HIV test counselling in the remote and difficult to access regions of Kouilou, Niari and Cuvette.
Almost 500,000 children were vaccinated and 700,000 clinical analyses performed. 200,000 people took part in events on preventive medicine and nutritional education, many of them women.
The Eni Foundation's project took place in the district of Palma in the Cabo Delgado region. The suite of operating theatres in the healthcare centre were furnished with modern equipment, and a new delivery house was built to welcome pregnant women from the most remote areas. A play called Theatre So Good offered an alternative way to pass on good hygiene, healthcare and nutritional practices.
