Functional description:
Exploration Department is responsible for management of Exploration and Appraisal activities, in Operated and Non-Operated exploration licenses and New Ventures, aimed at adding new reserves and potential resources to Company’s Portfolio, in accordance with Strategic Objectives of Eni E&P and Eni Nigeria.

Exploration Department shall operate in accordance with Regulations and Requirements from Nigerian Authorities, Eni E&P and Eni Nigeria.
Close cooperation with Nigerian Authorities, production Licenses and other relevant entities is seen as of outmost importance.

Exploration Department is organized In Onshore section, Offshore section and Exploration Portfolio & New Ventures. The Exploration Division Manager in cooperation with Area Managers coordinates the activities of the different sections.
Exploration Department’s personnel represents the company in operated/non-operated exploration licenses in management committee/exploration committees as representative and/or alternate member.

Exploration Department plans and coordinates the execution of exploration projects in order to identify commercially interesting prospect, respecting time schedules, optimizing costs and performing appropriate Technical and Economic Evaluations – ensure preparation of Scope of Work and, if applicable, provide technical advice for bids, in order to ensure that choice of contractors fully meet Technical and Budget Targets.

Exploration Department provides relevant technical support to Eni Nigeria Business Development, and to development and/or production activities.

Exploration Department ensures ownership of all Geological / Geophysical (G&G) data, by managing relevant physical and technical database, storages and archives, as well as provision of reporting exploration relevant issues to Eni Head Quarter.
Exploration Department represent the Company in Exploration Forums.
