In all our activities, we aim to eliminate accidents completely.
Above all, managing safety means ensuring that none of our people come to harm. At Eni we achieve this by adopting organisational and risk-management models to analyse hazards and identify the measures required to avoid or minimise them.
In recent years we have achieved important results where the safety of our workers is concerned. The key to our success lies in the rigorous system of procedures and standards we have adopted and to which every employee and contract worker must adhere. It is also due to the determination of management to propagate a culture of safety.
In 2016, we saw continuing improvement in our total recordable incident rate (TRIR) for both company employees and contract workers. In particular, we achieved a reduction of 21% for the global workforce, with our TRIR score decreasing from 0.45 to 0.35.
