Eni is committed to creating projects that are based on local needs and that contribute to the development of the countries where it operates.
The initiatives in support of local communities are aimed at promoting autonomous and sustainable development plans.
We often work in difficult environments where access to water, energy and health services is far from being a given. In these environments, Eni implements interventions for the communities that contribute to improving the living conditions of the host populations. These projects not only target the areas where Eni operates, but are also designed to meet a broader scope in alignment with national development plans. The interventions are defined and conducted on the basis of local needs, and getting the populations and local stakeholders involved is a fundamental requirement for creating new opportunities to support local development.
Eni for 2018
The interventions in support of the communities are designed to create autonomous and sustainable development plans based on local needs, in synergy with the business objectives. Economic diversification – such as the development of agriculture and fishing – education and training, access to water and energy, interventions to promote health, enhancing the role of women, capacity building and social participation: these are the primary areas we work on when we operate in a host country.
