  • Gas & Power

In May 2009, Eni signed a strategic alliance with Quicksilver Resources Inc., for the acquisition of a 27.5% stake in the Alliance area, in North Texas. The area extends for roughly fifty square kilometres with unconventional gas production coming from clay (shale gas) of the Barnett Shale formation in the Fort Worth Basin. The alliance with Quicksilver foresees for the exchange of techniques and know-how between the two companies. Eni is also entitled to a stake of 27.5% in any future licences in the area.
