Eni has been operating in Mozambique since 2006

Activities

  • Exploration

Eni is currently operator in the country with a share of 25% in Area 4 offshore Rovuma basin with a "dual exploration" model with Exxon. This is a new frontier for the global hydrocarbon industry thanks to the extraordinary gas discoveries that have been made following an intense exploration campaign in the space of just three years. The set-up of the Area 4 joint venture is as follows: Eni 25%; Exxon 25%; CNPC 20%; Kogas, Galp and ENH 10% each. Eni will continue to lead all upstream activities in Area 4 as well as the development of the Coral Floating LNG project. Exxon will lead the construction and operation of natural gas liquefaction facilities onshore.
